Eid-al-Fitr in Niujie Mosque

It was on 18th of July 2015 when I and my family did the Eid prayer in Nuijie Mosque. For those of you who doesn’t know what is Eid-al-Fitr, it is a special celebration, celebrated by all the Muslims across the country after Ramadhan. In the month of Ramadhan, we all fasts from the fajr(dawn) prayer until maghrib(sunset) prayer. Muslims celebrate Eid by visiting their families and forgive each other.

So back to the topic. It was a great experience when I prayed there even though I don’t really understand what people were saying to me. In that time, I can find all the Chinese Muslims gathering, enjoying, dancing and talk. It’s just, seeing all the Muslims makes me feel happy. At first I was a bit shocked because all the roads that are near the mosque are closed by police and there’s a security check like the one in airports when entering in. But then cool things happened to me, lol, this one is going to be funny. People asked me if they can take a picture of me and wants to take a picture with me, just made me feel like a celebrity. I know, I’m hilarious. I don’t even know why they did, don’t even bother to ask.

Free roads to walk on, lol.

When we finished the prayer we went for lunch in a Muslim restaurant, it felt so good eating outside again because for a month I was fasting and no time to eat out.
the noodle was so yummy!

So it’s a tradition in many Muslim way, is to buy new things in Eid. My whole family bought a new pair of shoes, it’s so common in my family, and we really like to buy shoes more than clothes.
we made friends with the shopkeeper haha

show 'em those sneakers!
So it was a great day that I will never forget. You guys should come for an Eid prayer here too, it’ll be fun.

Thanks for stopping by, even though its a late post.

HMAVPN

Hi again guys, I didn’t blogged to much when I was in China because I didn’t have time and I always had to connect to a VPN. VPN is a Virtual Private Network where for example like me in China, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, WordPress and etc. are blocked by the firewall in China. I had no idea why and what is the reason behind this blocking sites are. I have a recommendations for you who wants to visit or stay in China, you need to buy a VPN plan package. The one I used was HMA(Hide My Ass) VPN (www.hidemyass.com), I know it sounds hilarious but their online customer service and their packages prices are good. I suggest you who are going to stay in China, to buy at least a month plan package first, because HMAVPN website itself are blocked. So when you are in China, you can just simply activate the VPN and browse anything you like.

Happy browsing!

Beihai Park

Beihai park is hmm...a park. Well I don't know much about its history because I don't really care that much. Its just the point that I went there because it was a big park, we can ride a boat and have a picnic maybe? Many old people played music there so its totally worth a visit, it makes the landscape much more beautiful.

The white thing is the temple, I took the pic from a boat.
You can take the subway line 6 and stop at station Beihai North and exit B, just walk straight and cross the street and you'll find the gate. You should pay 10 yuan only for entry without going up the temple, or pay 20 yuan for the whole packet. The boat trips are separated, so you can choose which one you like to ride on.

The boat I chose.

With the boat I rode on, you can get the best view of the temple and better price.
This is how the boat look like.
About getting up the temple, you should make sure you are prepared for it haha, because its really high and many stairs to climb on.
This was the end of the stairs, but there was more before it too haha.
The entrance of the temple.
At the top of the temple.
When you are already on the temple, you can see so many place from up there. I can even see the building near my home.
If you get hungry, you can easily buy food from the restaurant or some snacks from the small shops. There is also Muslim restaurant there, so for the muslims, don't worry.
The Muslim restaurant.
So this is it, I hope this information is enough or if you want in more detail you can visit this website http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/beijing/beihai.htm .

Just one last pic of me when I look really cool haha.
