It was on
18th of July 2015 when I and my family did the Eid prayer in Nuijie
Mosque. For those of you who doesn’t know what is Eid-al-Fitr, it is a special
celebration, celebrated by all the Muslims across the country after Ramadhan.
In the month of Ramadhan, we all fasts from the fajr(dawn) prayer until maghrib(sunset)
prayer. Muslims celebrate Eid by visiting their families and forgive each
other.
So back to
the topic. It was a great experience when I prayed there even though I don’t
really understand what people were saying to me. In that time, I can find all the
Chinese Muslims gathering, enjoying, dancing and talk. It’s just, seeing all
the Muslims makes me feel happy. At first I was a bit shocked because all the
roads that are near the mosque are closed by police and there’s a security
check like the one in airports when entering in. But then cool things happened
to me, lol, this one is going to be funny. People asked me if they can take a
picture of me and wants to take a picture with me, just made me feel like a
celebrity. I know, I’m hilarious. I don’t even know why they did, don’t even
bother to ask.

When we
finished the prayer we went for lunch in a Muslim restaurant, it felt so good
eating outside again because for a month I was fasting and no time to eat out.

So it’s a
tradition in many Muslim way, is to buy new things in Eid. My whole family
bought a new pair of shoes, it’s so common in my family, and we really like to
buy shoes more than clothes.

So it was a
great day that I will never forget. You guys should come for an Eid prayer here
too, it’ll be fun.
Thanks for
stopping by, even though its a late post.
